The sub-vertical flat screen with alternate motion is installed on medium and large size civil or industrial treatment plants and can meet macro-screening requirements. It consists of a sturdy frame in structural steel, a bar assembly, a pendulum type bucket integral with a trolley, a trolley driving system moved by a couple of chains, a bucket cleaner for the screenings discharge and a gear motor. The screened material deposited on the screen bars is removed by the bucket during its upward stroke and thrown out of the cleaner to an established distance from the top limit switch.
Once reached the top dead center, the trolley stops for a set time and then runs downward at distance from the screen.
When the trolley reaches the bottom limit switch, stops again for a set period and restarts upwards getting near the screen. This particular type of operation allows the manufacture of an automatic screened material remover of extreme safety and manufacturing easiness. The protection against overloads is ensured by standard dynamometric devices or, on request, by electronic load limiting devices. The parts allowing the motion are all far from the water and this ensures their reliability and long life.
The standard construction is with carbon steel plates and sections protected by hot dip galvanization. On request, it is possible to have the protection with epoxy painting cycle or the screen made in stainless steel.
