PRATPD

The type PRATPD is used if it is necessary to have scrapers and sludge extraction system on the whole sedimentation tank diameter and the sludge extraction system of suction type. The bridge is recommended for waters having high sludge volumes. It consists of a mobile two-arm girder used as a walkway, a slewing ring unit, a central deflector, two traction trolleys placed in a diametral position, a set of sludge scraper blades, a suitable sludge suction system with recovery tank and siphon, a scum box, skimming blades, peripheral deflectors and notch weirs.
The slewing ring unit is placed in the middle of the tank, the traction trolleys and the drive units are instead located at the periphery. The sewage inlet is central, the flow is adequately deviated by the deflector in order to optimize the sedimentation of the sludge which precipitates to the bottom and is gathered by the sludge scraper blade, sucked by the specific system and conveyed to the recovery tank. From here the sludge is then extracted by a suction siphon activated by an electric aspirator. The electric aspirator has the only function of putting the siphon into operation, after that, the activation is automatic.
The function of the skimming blade and of the scum box is to remove any not settled floating materials as well as oils and surface-active materials. The protection against overloads can be carried out by an electromechanical torque limit switch.
The standard construction is in carbon steel protected with hot dip galvanization; on request, the construction in stainless steel or aluminium is possible.
