FCS

The shaftless screw filter is suitable for many applications, in particular for the micro-screening of the material and for the filtrations of sludge and floating materials of civil or industrial wastewater treatment plants. The type FCS consists of one multifunction shaftless screw and a semi-cylindrical filtering screen in perforated sheet. The screw is controlled by a sturdy gear motor ensuring the filtering screen cleaning, the lifting, compacting and sacking of the screened material. The particular geometry of the screw, without the central shaft, reduces the possibility of obstruction in case of filamentous materials to be screened. Moreover, the lack of a lower bearing considerably reduces maintenance problems. The screened material, before being discharged and sacked in a suitable container, is submitted to compaction and de-watering involving an about 50% decrease in weight. The screw filter is able to totally eliminate the suspended solids having a diameter bigger than the size of the filtering gap, and considerably cut down the polluting load. Moreover, the completely closed body, which is a peculiarity of this equipment, avoids the diffusion of bad smells. On request, the screw filter can be provided with a system for the screened material washing with nozzles and pressurized water.
The screw filter length and diameter are set according to the channel height and width; they therefore depend on the water flow to be treated. On request it is possible to have models with the length of the filtering screen different from the standard one, in order to increase the flow of water to be treated. Moreover, always on request, it is possible to have screw filters with the desired discharge height.
The standard construction is in stainless steel.
