The screw screenings campactor conveyor is installed downstream each type of screen when, because of the transport or stocking, it is necessary to reduce the screened material overall dimensions. This machine consists of a screened material loading hopper, a shaftless screw conveyor, in treated steel, a drain-pressing pipe comprising a set of wedge wire bars and a discharge opening provided with hinged closing element and counterweight.
Screenings is conveyed from the discharge hopper through the screw where it is pushed to the pressing zone. On the compactor top, the counterweight prevents the material outcoming and forms a natural plug. The material, continuously pushed by the screw rotation, is compressed and, at the same time, de-watered. The screened material outcoming occurs when the compression force is the same as the counterweight force. The movement of the screw is provided by a gearmotor. Moreover, a thick layer of antifriction material protects the channel from the screw rotation. On request, for particular materials to be compacted, it is possible to provide the equipment complete with washing nozzles of the compaction chamber and washing nozzles of the screened material. In the standard line there is the arrangement for the connections of piping carrying nozzles. In this way, the compactor can be provided with nozzles even subsequently.
The standard type of construction is in carbon steel protected by hot dip galvanization. On request it is possible the manufacturing in stainless steel.
