The static sieve is suitable for the preliminary treatment of civil or industrial wastewater. It consists of a frame made in section and press-bended steel plate to compose the double chamber for water inlet-outlet (screen bearing structure), a filtering screen composed of wedge wire bars adequately spaced and, only with regard to the model VSV, an electromechanical vibrator.
The inlet raw water fills the supply chamber and arrives up to the screen top. The equipment structure allows a uniform distribution of the liquid on the filtering screen. The water enters into the screen interspaces, is filtered and reaches the discharge chamber; at the same time, the screened material runs along the screen and reaches, by gravity, the discharge zone. The particular screen geometry allows the slowing of screening during the flowing down and therefore a lower percentage of water in it. To optimize the equipment operation, in accordance with the type of water to be treated, it is possible to modify the filtering screen sloping by means of a special control knob.
This type of equipment has unquestionable advantages of absence of parts in motion or electric motors, low costs of installation and the minimum maintenance required. The screen is able to ensure constant performances and noiseless operation. As for raw waters containing suspended solids of particular nature, the type VSV which comprises, in its structure, an electromechanical vibrator which facilitates the removal of the solid material deposited on the filtering screen, is available.
The standard construction is in stainless steel.
