Water filters

The filtration processes considered in this section are usually used for the tertiary treatments of civil or industrial sewages. In particular SERECO offers equipment for the filtration on sand, activated carbon or through clothes. In particular the pressure filters FSQ and FCA carried out the filtration respectively on sand and activated carbon. They are used if an effluent with very good characteristics is required; in particular the FCA type, combining the filtration to the adsorbing effect of the activated carbon, noticeably better the sewage characteristics with regard the residual load and suspended solids.
The filtration on sand or activated carbon is possible also by using the model FPVR. In this case the filtration occurs by gravity and the back-washing system of the filtering bed allows the back washing without interrupting the filtration.
Whereas the filtration through cloth is possible thanks to two types of filters, FTG and FDG. Both of them are gravity filters with zero energy consumption during the normal filtration and a very low energy requirement during the only back washing cycle. The back washing occurs without any interruption of the normal filtration. In particular, the FDG type allows very small overall dimensions and high specific flow rates; in fact it has a wide effective filtration surface in very limited areas.
SERECO can also boasts a long experience in the installation of sand or activated gravity beds, with traditional back washing carried out with the interruption of the filtering process and insufflating back-washing air and water from adequate nozzles provided on the bottom.
The filtration process on sand or activated carbon can be also carried out, in an integrated way, within the frame of a chemical-physical treatment of CFF type.
The sand or activated carbon filters FSQ and FCA types are however used for the treatment of the potable water and, sometimes, also in the tertiary treatments of sewage. In this connection SERECO also boasts a long experience about deferrization and demanganization plants normally used for the potabilization treatments.
